Nellie Griess - Massage Therapist
|
Nellie Griess, LMT is a hands-on kind of person.
Whether she is knitting, cooking, hiking, camping, biking, doing yoga, or practicing her Dim Mak,
her passion for helping others comes through. She cultivated her skills in deep tissue, Swedish,
sports, and prenatal massage therapy at Calhoun College in the Deep South of rural Alabama.
She has been practicing massage since August of 2008, is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic
Massage, certified in Prenatal and Perinatal massage, a professional member of the AMTA, and
is now ready to unleash her artistry on the People's Republic of Portland. |
She provides integrative massage—combining a variety of techniques to suit the needs of each
individual she works on. Her style is deep but soothing to promote relaxation, while getting to
the root of major muscle tensions in the body. She adapts her techniques to each person's
body to provide the most effective treatment and has an instinctive knack for finding problem
areas while treating the body as a whole. She is passionate about injury prevention treatments,
wellness massage, and helping ease people’s aches and pains.
Nellie likes the things you like and can’t wait to get started kneading bodies that need a
professional healing experience!

She enjoys bike riding, hiking, cooking, and running; basically everything active under the sun or in this case…clouds.
She has a beautiful little girl named Ruby who we all adore. Hope also has an extensive background in sports massage, and deep tissue work.

Anne Tegtmeiei - Massage Therapist
|
Anne grew up in Denver, Colorado and began her professional life as a modern dancer. After receiving her BFA in Dance from The Boston Conservatory, she went on to dance in New York and perform with a number of companies in the New England area. Because she experienced firsthand the benefits of bodywork on athletic performance, she decided to transition into becoming a practitioner herself, graduating from the Connecticut Center for
Massage Therapy in December of 2001. Her career as a massage therapist has led her to explore a number of complementary modalities, including Thermal Stone Therapy, Thai Massage and Reflexology, as well as continuing her life in movement through teaching dance, yoga and the Pilates mat class.
|
In April 2008, her daughter Lily was born, and through the challenging yet extremely rewarding experience of overcoming significant obstacles to breastfeeding, she decided to begin the process of becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Upon moving to Portland in February 2011, she enrolled in the Associates of Science in Lactation program at Birthingway College of Midwifery. Anne is also a passionate amateur cook, food blogger, and cookbook author.
