Dr. Shane M. McLaughlin
Shane M. McLaughlin, DC, CCSP, CSCS was born and raised in Milwaukie, Oregon and a proud father of two children. He attended Milwaukie high school and later went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Kinesiology from the University of Oregon. Dr. Shane graduated from Western States Chiropractic in 2006 with his Doctorate of Chiropractic.
He has been active in sports and working with athletes since his days in high-school and has since become CSCS certified~ Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Dr. Shane has obtained the postgraduate designation of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.

This instruction is specific to physical fitness and the evaluation and treatment of injuries encountered in sports. The 120 hour post-doctoral program aids the doctor in the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries by enhancing diagnostic skills and patient care.
The CCSP accreditation provides a uniform standard of education assuring teams and athletes that the doctor has an expertise in chiropractic sports medicine. There are only 22 others in Oregon with this distinct designation.
Dr. Shane practices full spectrum chiropractic and combines his knowledge of athletics and strength conditioning to also specialize in treating all ranges of athletes, from the weekend warrior to professional athletes.
He has also joined forces with his wife to start Core Elements Chiropractic with the goal of improving the structure and function of the spine and nervous system. His treatment approach encompasses spinal and extremity adjusting, exercise, and nutrition, & lifestyle counseling.

Dr. Arah M. McLaughlin

Arah M. McLaughlin, DC was born and raised in Seattle, Washington where she graduated from the University of Washington with her bachelor of science in Biology. She graduated in 2006 from Western States chiropractic with her Doctorate in chiropractic.
Arah is also a happily married mother of two and had both of her children during her rigorous studies in Chiropractic College. It was at this time that she realized the need for pediatric, pregnancy and post-partum chiropractic care for women. She also spent two years following her mentor and founder of WM~WC observing care for infants, children and moms and has been treating this population since her days in the Western States outpatient clinic. |
In addition, she has completed an additional year specializing in pediatric and pregnancy care with the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association, ICPA. Arah is also continuing her education and specializing in cranio-sacral therapy with the Upledger Institute to better help the needs of her patients while using a lighter force technique.
Dr. Arah practices full spectrum chiropractic, however she has now combined her passion of caring for children, mothers and moms-to-be with her career as a chiropractor and has joined forces with her husband to start Core Elements Chiropractic in Portland, Oregon.

Kayla Brunton - Office Manager

Kayla Brunton is our office manager and one of the newest additions to the Core Elements team. She was born in Anchorage Alaska & raised in Portland Oregon where she graduated from Milwaukie high school.
She lives in Molalla but loves the drive into town to see all of her favorite patients; she’s got a sunny disposition and loves working with people from all walks of life.
Outside of work she enjoys an active lifestyle ranging from many different hobbies which include hiking, camping, working out, reading, writing, skydiving, skiing, & baking cookies with her little man Jacob.
She’s developed a love for children and plans on pursuing a career in education this fall.
